The other day, I was trying to finish reading a report on my phone while walking my dog. As I was engrossed in the text, I didn't notice my dog veering off the path. It led to a comical situation where both of us ended up tangled in the leash, much to the amusement of onlookers. Situations like these highlight the challenge of reading on the go. Many people have similar experiences, such as missing their train or bumping into others due to their focus on reading.
Podcasts and audiobooks are helpful, but much of today's content is available only in text. Sometimes, you need to read an important document before you arrive at the office. That's where the ElevenLabs Reader App comes in. This app lets you listen to any text content on your phone using ElevenLabs' high-quality voices. It converts articles, PDFs, ePubs, and newsletters into audio, making a wide range of content easily accessible.
ElevenLabs aims to make content accessible in any language and voice. Creating top-tier AI audio models isn't enough; creators need tools for creation, and consumers need interfaces to consume audio. ElevenLabs builds some of these interfaces and enables others through their API.
The app is free to download and use for the first three months. It's currently available for iOS users in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. Plans are underway to launch globally with multilingual support.
